Capacitive Reactance

Capacitive reactance is a circuit element’s opposition to an alternating current caused by the build up of electric fields in the element due to the current. Capacitive reactance (Xc) is inversely proportional to the signal frequency (F) and the capacitance (C).

X_{c}=frac{1}{2pi FC}

F=frac{1}{2pi X_{c}C}

C=frac{1}{2pi X_{c}F}
